Visiting a lighthouse on Lake Superior may not be as difficult as you think!
Porphyry Island lighthouse is located 45 km east of Thunder Bay and provides a one of a kind, up close and personal experiences with Lake Superior.
Accommodation is available in our guest house, offering a rustic retreat at this stunningly location. Why? Because lighthouses are situated in place that can be seen from many directions giving you a 260° view of Superior and the Sleeping Giant.
The guest house is situated on the point of the island and has all the basic amenities for your over night stay. The comfortable 1950’s accommodation in which the lighthouse keepers used to reside gives you a sense of what life was like back then. With access to running water, propane cook stove, hydro, the place offers a rustic opportunity to commune with many activities around the light station.
The guest house has one double bed, three single beds and a comfortable living room that could accommodate one more on the couch for an overnight stay.
