Starting from Silver Islet, your charter tour will take you over the historic silver mine and across Black Bay, where you’ll be treated to a breathtaking view of the Sleeping Giant, framed by the glimmering shadows of the mine shafts. Upon arrival at Porphyry Island, immerse yourself in its unique climate and plant life, and hear captivating stories of the lighthouse keepers during a guided or self-guided tour. Discover the fascinating history of the lighthouse, from the keepers and their chickens to the ships guided—or sometimes misguided—by its light.
Your journey to the lighthouse is just 15 minutes by boat your charter captain will share fascinating stories about local attractions on the water and around Porphyry Island. Once you arrive, there’s so much to explore and enjoy. Savor a leisurely picnic lunch (or pre-order a meal at the light keeper’s table when booking your ticket), take in the stunning views of black sand beaches, swim in the refreshing waters, or simply relax and soak in the island’s serene beauty.
