Engaging and informative talks for the public
Our 2026 Spring Speaker Series began with an engaging and informative set of talks about Thunder Cape. Andrew Ehn, Program Coordinator with CLLS, spoke of the history of the former light station at the site through to its current automated beacon. Al Harris, Chair of the Thunder Bay Field Naturalists, spoke of 33 years of bird banding at the Thunder Cape Bird Observatory.
Andrew Ehn also relayed a suite of interesting tales from the Kerr family’s days as light keepers at Trowbridge, Thunder Bay Main, and Angus Island. Many thanks to our speakers and to the Thunder Bay Museum for these important opportunities to share the region’s maritime history!
